This is a fine World War II German Model 1939 Wound Badge in Black that is in very good condition. It is constructed of non-magnetic brass alloy and exhibits sharp detail from the precision strike. All the black finish has been purposely removed to make the badge appear as a gold grade. The hollow reverse is with the original black finish and retains both the functional pin and catch assemblies. As awarded for the first and second wound received in combat.
